In 1989, Evangelos Katsioulis achieved the 3rd best performance in Thessaloniki, in the National Mathematics Contest in Greece.

In 1993, Dr Evangelos Katsioulis outscored on the Final National examinations in Physics in Greece having achieved the best  performance among more than 11,000 participants (150/160 ie. 18.75/20)
